Pembroke: The County of Renfrew Social Services Department is pleased to announce that in partnership with the Province of Ontario, we will be participating in a new and exciting initiative to better deliver services to our Ontario Works Clients in Renfrew County.
As part of their plans to modernize social assistance, this pilot program launched by the Province will provide the County of Renfrew Ontario Works office with an intake process that reduces paperwork, and will allow caseworkers more time supporting clients through crisis and helping them get back to work. This new automated process will also provide a faster and more efficient system for eligibility and processing of financial assistance to Ontario Works clients.
“As a partner in this initiative, our Social Services staff will have the opportunity to demonstrate best practices, offer timely feedback and participate in delivering a more responsive and efficient service to Ontario Works clients. By participating in this pilot we can assist our clients with faster intakes and processing allowing our caseworkers to spend more time directly supporting clients and their goal to get back to work.“ Said James Brose, chair of the County of Renfrew Social Services Committee.
“The opportunity to partner with the Province of Ontario to assess the proposed changes and the impact they will have on Ontario Works clients is much appreciated. The County of Renfrew takes pride in its staff who are consistently looking at best practices in social services and I’m heartened to see that Minister Todd Smith and his ministry have included us in the very important pilot project.“ Shared Debbie Robinson, Warden of the County of Renfrew.
