County of Renfrew County Council is comprised of the elected mayors of each of the 17 communities. There are five standing committees that meet monthly with senior staff and then each committee chair presents their committee report to County Council at the end of the month. The Warden is the head of County Council and is elected each year from amongst its membership.
County Council meets once a month with some exceptions. Open Session of County Council meetings start at 10:00 a.m.
As much as possible, business is conducted in Open Session with the exception of matters pertaining to specific individuals, litigation or potential litigation, personnel matters or the receiving of legal advice.
