The Accessibility Advisory Committee (AAC) is comprised of volunteers who are residents of the County of Renfrew, as well as one elected member of the County Council.
The committee meets three or four times a year.
View our council calendar for information about meetings.
The AAC's primary mandate is to review the County of Renfrew's Municipal Accessibility Plan and make recommendations to improve it. The AAC is responsible for identifying barriers in buildings owned and operated by the Corporation of the County of Renfrew.
We identify physical and non-physical barriers in our community. This can involve inspecting properties and making recommendations that will assist in the removal of physical and non-physical barriers for persons with disabilities.
Local government can submit a request to the AAC for assistance with interpretation of the act, and to review the Annual Municipal Accessibility Plan. To submit a request, please contact us and we will get in touch. Only representatives from our 17 local communities can submit a request.
