The County of Renfrew is committed to supporting your right to access information, while ensuring the protection of personal information in accordance with legislative requirements.
The Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA) allows you the right to access information held by the County of Renfrew, with some specific exceptions. For a complete list of access exemptions, refer to the exemptions section of MFIPPA.
There may be instances where your personal information is required in order for us to provide you with information or services. Where your information is required, the amount collected will be limited to the minimum amount and type necessary to provide you with the information or service you have requested. This information will only be used for the purposes for which it was collected and will not be used to create an individual profile or combined with other information held by the County to create a new database of information.

Most information held by the County of Renfrew is available by directly contacting the department responsible for the information you are requesting. We will make every effort to process your request in a timely manner. If your routine disclosure request is denied, you may submit a formal Freedom of Information request to the County Deputy Clerk.
There is no initial fee associated with routine disclosure requests; however, fees for retrieval, reproduction, labour, and shipping may be applied at the discretion of the department director. We will give you an estimate of these fees before proceeding with your request.
A Freedom of Information (FOI) request is required to access recorded information that is not routinely available. This includes accessing and/or correcting your own personal information.
Fill out the prescribed FOI form providing specific details about the information you want to access. Submit your request to us with the mandatory $5.00 application fee.
Please note that requests for information submitted without $5.00 will not be processed until payment is received.
