Renfrew County: During this Paramedic Services week, the County of Renfrew recognizes the efforts of our paramedics who serve on the front-line of the health-care system.
Paramedic Services Week takes place from May 22-28 and offers an opportunity to recognize the continuing dedication of our paramedics. This year’s theme is the Faces of Paramedicine and highlights the critical role paramedics and their partners in communications and logistics take on in the community.
Over the last two years, paramedics have been at the forefront of the fight against COVID-19 and they have been tested in new and sometimes extraordinary ways. The important role a paramedic service plays in keeping communities safe and healthy has never been more apparent.
“The County of Renfrew Paramedic Service is an example of Paramedics at their best – utilizing their extensive scope of practice to rise to whatever challenge is presented,” said Chief Michael Nolan, County of Renfrew Paramedic Service. “I am constantly inspired by the hard work and dedication I see every day. I am proud to be a member of this incredible group which continues to work day and night to serve the needs of our communities. Happy Paramedic Services Week!”
Our County of Renfrew Paramedics continuously dedicate themselves to helping those in need. Despite the risks they face, paramedics continue to show up for the residents and visitors of the County of Renfrew and serve their community, with the utmost care, compassion, and professionalism.
“In every emergency you will find paramedics taking care of people,” Warden Debbie Robinson said. “We just experienced a pandemic that could have crippled the County of Renfrew had it not been for our paramedic service.
“When people lost their homes in the flood of 2019 paramedics were there to ensure the safety of residents and just this past weekend, following the devastating storm that hit the southern portion of our County, paramedics were front and centre caring for the injured and providing assistance to anyone who was in a vulnerable situation,” the warden added. “Our health-care system functions because of paramedics and these men and women deserve our thanks not just for one week but every day.”
This week has been designated as a time to thank our Paramedics. We thank them for risking their safety, sacrificing time with their loved ones, and going above and beyond every day to help keep our community safe and healthy. The County of Renfrew is grateful for their dedication and service.
