Debbie Robinson Takes Oath of Office as Warden of the County Of Renfrew
Township of Laurentian Valley Reeve Sworn in For Second Term as Warden
Pembroke, (ON): Township of Laurentian Valley Reeve Debbie Robinson formally took the Oath of Office at today’s session of County Council and assumes the Office of the Warden of the County of Renfrew for a one-year term. Warden Robinson was acclaimed to her second term as warden by her peers on County Council. Warden Robinson was nominated by fellow Councillor Michael Donohue, with Councillor James Brose as Seconder.
Upon assuming the Chain of Office for the County of Renfrew, Warden Robinson presented a brief outline of some of her goals and objectives for 2021 in an online inaugural address to Council and guests. “Council will continue to move forward with projects like Renfrew County Virtual Triage and Assessment Centre and the access to broadband, improving the quality of life for residents of the County of Renfrew.” The Warden also committed to the continued implementation of the County of Renfrew Service Delivery Review, “increasing the level of service to the community while ensuring the efficient use of our resources, both human and financial.”
Warden Robinson also spoke to these issues, “we will press forward with initiatives concerning community housing, childcare, and Ontario Works. We will continue to embrace the adoption of the Butterfly Model for Bonnechere Manor and Miramichi Lodge. We must ensure that our community’s most vulnerable are given the services and supports that they deserve and require. Together we will work with the Province to protect our assets and investments in these programs and services.”
Warden Robinson has served in municipal government for the past 14 years, prior to that she was a local journalist, and deeply involved as a community volunteer, where she sat on boards of governance for many associations in the county.
