Tonight’s outdoor Opening Ceremony for the Renfrew County 2023 Ontario Winter Games has been cancelled.
The Games Organizing Committee made the difficult decision early Thursday morning due to the anticipated weather pattern hitting our area later today and the cancellation of school buses.
“Our first priority is the safety of the athletes, participants, families and volunteers,” said Renfrew County Warden Peter Emon, Chair of the Games Organizing Committee.
The Special Events Committee is currently working on a plan to create a unique Opening Ceremony experience for the athletes which we will communicate later today.
