Renfrew: On Wednesday, Warden of the County of Renfrew Debbie Robinson, along with other officials delivered greetings to a full room of elected officials, partner organizations, staff and the public to celebrate the official grand opening of the newly renovated social services space at Renfrew County Place at 450 O’Brien Road. This was the launch of the Human Services Integration Project; the purpose was to provide one common-counter for Renfrew and area residents to receive assistance from Child Care and Early Years, Ontario Works, and Renfrew County Housing Corporation programs.
Warden of the County of Renfrew Debbie Robinson delivered this remark, “The Human Services Integration Project ensures that we will continue to deliver our community services in a highly efficient and effective way to our residents. Events like this one are leading the way in clearly demonstrating to the Province that we are taking their initiative of modernization seriously, and that we are working together with a goal to create efficient service delivery and reduce future long-term costs through shared counter and shared service delivery. Projects like this will make a significant and positive difference not only to our own operations, but most importantly to our residents.”
Chair of the County of Renfrew Social Services Committee, James Brose echoed the Warden’s comments with, “Thank you to our provincial partners for their support in making this project a success. Also thanks to the many staff at the County not only leading this project but living it. You each deliver such vital services to our community and the Social Services Committee truly appreciates it as does our community.” He continued with,” This project brings our services together in a more efficient manner with a shared service point, with staff across different areas of expertise delivering coordinated and efficient services to our community members.”
The Human Services Integration Project was an initiative to create efficient, client focused service delivery to county residents with regards to Ontario Works, Housing, and Child Care with the goal to develop a one-counter approach for these services. The Grand Opening included a tour of the newly renovated service areas, which involved a 7,300 square foot of existing floor space renovation.
Renfrew County Place is a service hub where the County provides services like Ontario Works, Renfrew County Housing Corporation, Child Care, Enterprise Renfrew County, and a Paramedic Services Base amongst other local services.
