PEMBROKE – How do you spend a summer day in the Ottawa Valley?
The Ottawa Valley Tourist Association (OVTA), in collaboration with Lotus City Media, is creating a short documentary film called A Valley Day and they want residents, visitors and local businesses to be part of it.
The OVTA is looking for video submissions showing how residents and visitors spend a summer day in the Valley. Local businesses can also get involved by submitting videos of behind the scenes footage of day-to-day operations or daily business rituals.
To be considered for inclusion in A Valley Day documentary, videos must be captured between June 21st and July 18th, 2021 and filmed within the geographic boundaries of Renfrew County, the City of Pembroke or South Algonquin Township.
“We want to see and share the Ottawa Valley through the lens of our residents, visitors and businesses,” says Melissa Marquardt, Tourism Development Officer with the Ottawa Valley Tourist Association. “Despite still being under the grips of the COVID-19 pandemic, there are still so many ways to enjoy a summer day in the Valley. Whether out for a paddle, bike ride or time at the beach; dining on a patio or having a picnic; shopping or taking in the arts; camping under the stars or a weekend at a local resort. If you are out doing it, capture it and share it with us.”
Each video submission must be no more than 3 minutes in length and be raw and un-edited with natural audio. Multiple submissions are accepted. Videos must not contain any illegal or dangerous activities, acts of violence, racism, discrimination or harassment and must follow appropriate local COVID-19 health and safety protocols when required.
Video submissions are being accepted now by email to AValleyDay@gmail.com and must be received before 11:59pm on July 18, 2021 to be considered.
A Valley Day short documentary film will be released at the end of July and will become part of the OVTA’s summer marketing campaign.
