Renfrew County Warden Debbie Robinson announced today that Rogers Communications has entered into an agreement with Renfrew County 2022 Ontario Winter Games to be the Presenting Sponsor of the Games, which will see over 2,300 athletes and their families, and coaches visit the County on the weekends of 25-27 February and 4-7 March, 2022.
“The excitement of the OWG continues to grow in our County and has been embraced by many local volunteers. They have been working diligently behind the scenes to make this OWG one to remember. Rogers’ sponsorship has added to this excitement. Their dedication to supporting communities shines through with this significant contribution. Rogers’ involvement across Eastern Ontario as the main proponent to ending the gap in cellular services is just one example of the ability of this corporation to have a positive impact on our communities.”
Said Warden Debbie Robinson.
“We are ramping up quickly for the Games and have most of our venues confirmed. Our 16 Volunteer Chairs have been working very hard making sure we have all our ‘ducks in a row’ as we get closer to seeing the athletes coming to the County. It’s exciting to see all the hard work paying off and having sponsors like Rogers working with us reinforces the importance of these Games. For most of these young athletes this will be their first serious competition since the beginning of Covid,” Games Manager Cindy Burwell noted. “We are looking forward to sharing our new Games logo with the Rogers sponsorship in the coming weeks.”
Representing Rogers Communications at today’s announcement were Sameer Sheth, Senior Director of Service Expansion, Kyle McHenry, Senior Project Manager of Service Expansion and Jodi Parps, Senior Manager of Government Relations.
“Rogers is proud to be named the Presenting Sponsor of the Renfrew County 2022 Ontario Winter Games,” said Sameer Sheth, Senior Director of Service Expansion at Rogers Communications. “This partnership underscores our deep commitment to serving the communities of Eastern Ontario while we work to deliver vital cellular connectivity to the region as part of the Eastern Ontario Regional Network Cell Gap Project.”
