Laurentian Valley Township Reeve Acclaimed Warden for Second Term
Pembroke, (ON): Laurentian Valley Township Reeve Debbie Robinson has been acclaimed as Warden of the County of Renfrew for a second term. Debbie was nominated by fellow Councillor Michael Donohue, with Councillor James Brose as Seconder.
Warden Robinson will officially accept the Chain of Office for her second term following a brief ceremony at the inaugural session of County Council to be held on December 15th, 2020. Warden Robinson intends to continue pressing ahead on key issues of importance to County Council.
“We will press forward with initiatives concerning community health by working together with the Province to maintain and expand the Renfrew County Virtual Triage and Assessment Centre. We will continue to support and lead initiatives that ensure our community’s most vulnerable are given the services and supports that they deserve and require such as housing, childcare, and Ontario works. We will continue to unveil and adopt projects and initiatives of the Butterfly Model for Bonnechere Manor and Miramichi Lodge; “shared Warden Robinson.
Nominations for Warden closed on November 13, 2020, and no other members of County Council put forth their name as a candidate for Warden.
Warden Robinson has served in municipal government for the past 14 years, prior to that she was a local journalist, and deeply involved as a community volunteer, where she sat on boards of governance for many associations in the county.
