“I am excited to take on this role as Chair of the caucus and I want to thank the caucus members for their confidence in me. 2020 was a challenging year, and 2021 will no doubt be full of both opportunities, and challenges. The EOWC will continue to represent the priorities of the Caucus on behalf of the 750,000 residents in Eastern Ontario. The EOWC will continue to ensure that our united voice is heard clearly by our partners at the Province,” shared Chair Debbie Robinson.
“The EOWC priorities for 2021 include - the completion of the comprehensive review of Eastern Ontario’s Long-term Care Facilities, EORN’s Gig project, Municipal Recovery, Attainable and Affordable Housing, and offer us direction that allows us to focus on actions to achieve results for the benefit of all of Eastern Ontario,” she added.
Since its inception, the Eastern Ontario Wardens' Caucus (EOWC) has worked to support and advocate on behalf of the property taxpayers across rural Eastern Ontario. The EOWC covers an area of 45,000 square kilometres from Cobourg to the Quebec border, and includes 13 upper-tier and single-tier municipalities as well as 90 local municipalities. All these member municipalities work together as a team, researching important issues, advocating for its 750,000 residents, and striving to ensure that conditions are in place to make Eastern Ontario the greatest place in the world to reside and do business. The EOWC endeavors to speak with one voice, ensuring that its views are heard and considered by federal and provincial policy makers, business leaders, the media and the public.
