If you need emergency assistance, please call 9-1-1.
If you have any emergency or non-emergency calls to make, call-takers are the ones who receive and process your needs. Their job is to respond quickly and effectively to your emergency, helping you with the next appropriate steps.
Dispatchers take and record the necessary information from a call-taker and then dispatch the right services and resources based on type emergency. They are responsible for coordinating the appropriate response.
Fire call-taking and dispatch services take place at the Central Ambulance Communications Centre, which is located in the Town of Renfrew. The Ministry of Health and Long Term Care provides the service while The County of Renfrew Emergency Services department owns and manages it. The Emergency Services also maintain the equipment and technology needed through the Public Works & Engineering department.
